Position -Research Assistant

This is a great entry level position for someone looking to develop a career in evaluation and research.

Entry Level 1.0 FTE position (37.5 hours per week).

Our working environment is designed to support collaboration, creativity, continual learning and advancement. The Research Assistant position is a developmental position. The successful candidate will support senior team members in all aspects of their work – including: framework design, data collection, analysis, and reporting.

The ideal candidate has an understanding of primary and community health care in BC and can demonstrate exceptional written and oral English skills. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have an understanding of both qualitative and quantitative research methods. Candidates are required to have an undergraduate degree in the social sciences or humanities.

The ideal candidate has the following Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Exceptional MS Office and Excel skills as well as a knowledge of R
  • Ability to work with Adobe InDesign and other graphic design software
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Understanding of primary and community health care in BC
  • Exceptional spoken and written English communication skills
  • Understanding and ability to apply both qualitative and quantitative research methods
  • Ability to problem solve complex issues
  • Ability to work with and engage with different population groups
  • Ability to work collaboratively and support the work of team members
  • Ability to work with confidential information


  • Assist in the development of interview guides, surveys and other data collection tools
  • Conduct directed open ended in-person and telephone interviews
  • Conduct document and literature reviews
  • Data entry
  • Schedule phone interviews and meetings
  • Assist with data analysis and management
  • Assist with report writing and editing, including report formatting
  • Assist in other research activities as deemed necessary as well as business development processes such as RFP responses.

Position Details and Compensation

  • 1.0 FTE (37.5 regular hours per week).
  • Some flexibility will be required – including the occasional need to work evenings and weekends as well as travel within BC.
